Publisher's summary

Lucie Miller always loved Christmas back home in Blackpool. Her Mum running a still-frozen turkey under the hot tap at ten. Great-Grandma Miller half-cut on cooking sherry by eleven. Her Dad and her uncle arguing hammer and tongs about who was the best James Bond all through dinner. And in the afternoon, Aunty Pat, haring up to the house on the back of a moped weighed down with ridiculous presents.

Christmas 2009 didn't turn out like that.

Christmas 2009, the Doctor turned up…

Notes

  • This was the last story to feature Sheridan Smith as Lucie Miller, who has been an audio companion of the Eight Doctor for over three seasons.
  • It is also the conclusion for the story arc of Lucie Millar's aunt 'Pat' and her complex relations with the Zygon race.

Continuity

  • The End of Time is occurring at the same time as this. Unless this is set before 25th December, it is unexplained why no one in the story turned into a version of The Master. As "Aunty Pat" pulled the TARDIS back to Christmas 2008 using the parabolic diverter, not the Christmas to which the Doctor had intended to travel, the events of The End of Time would have had no bearing on this story. This, of course, means that the events of Voyage of the Damned should have been occurring at the same time as this story. Either the Doctor simply did not realize what was going on (he was somewhat preoccupied at the time) or the events of the Last Great Time War altered Christmas 2008 following this story. The Cracks may explain the entire problem, as well.
