Scorby was a mercenary in the employ of Harrison Chase. On Chase's orders, he and Arnold Keeler traveled to a scientific base in Antarctica, where he stole a Krynoid pod discovered there, destroyed the base with a bomb and brought the pod to England. He later turned against Chase after seeing how dangerous the Krynoid was. Disbelieving in the Doctor's ability to deal with the problem, he tried to flee, but was drowned by plants controlled by the Krynoid. (DW: The Seeds of Doom)
