Los Angeles is a major city in California. Perpugilliam "Peri" Brown, companion of the Fifth and Sixth Doctors, lived in nearby Pasadena.
Presumably it survived the fall of the United States and the destruction of New York City in the 21st century. In the far future, the Earth boasted a feature called the Los Angeles Crevasse; it was probably near the present-day Los Angeles.
