The Madevinia aridosa was a type of flower that grew in the deserts of Gallifrey. It was small with velvety red petals with ragged edges. In the centre was a bioluminescent light. They had a very short life-span and bloomed profusely after rain.
Due to their short lifespans, they were used in scientific experiments. Seeds of the flower were taken on the first Time Scaphe. (NA: Cat's Cradle: Time's Crucible)
