Earth produced several types of sentient beings including the Human race. Also evolved on Earth, the reptilian Silurians existed long before humans. At least one other sentient Earth species, the "Sea Devils", exists.
In his eighth incarnation the Doctor is described as being half human and half Time Lord, so a biological relationship may exist between humans and Time Lords.
