Talk:Human

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference

Affiliationsedit source

as mention before, it would look silly if we put the Doctor's name as affiliated with every species he has had a connection with (because he has gotten affiliated with so many), but thought I would make an exception in this case, because it just seems right.

by Bernice Summerfield's time humans and Silurians have a peaceful co-existence and in some other stories (one set in an alt. timeline and the Big Finish UNIT minseies).I just thought I would mention that even though I decided not to put their name under affiliations. also, by Bernice's time, Draconians and humans have also made peace.

I decided to not put down the names of the slace races the Ood and the Monoids.

once we have a list of aliens that have affected Human devlopment (many), we should link to a separate article on the topc. --***Stardizzy*** 13:11, 2 February 2007 (UTC)

In Biologically modified categoryedit source

I just thought I would explain this: the Fendahl influenced human development, as so the categorization. --***Stardizzy*** 13:11, 2 February 2007 (UTC)

History of humansedit source

not written yet, but this should cover (though overlap) the history of Earth. will go into humans on a wider scale and go into depth on other topics not related to Earth at all, after Earth gets cinderized, etc. --***Stardizzy*** 13:11, 2 February 2007 (UTC)

Question...edit source

In TV: The Time of Angels, the Eleventh Doctor compares Humans to rabbits and comments that he'll never be done saving them. Should that be in the article? --Reikson 20:20, May 29, 2010 (UTC)

Imageedit source

Can we change the image from the one it is now. As it stands, the image has DWA (or similar) down the bottom left, which makes it out of universe, when it should be in-universe. Does anyone have any suggestions as to which image to use? The Thirteenth Doctor23:18, June 8, 2010 (UTC)
I also think it should be changed, to a newer, more modern image. I don't like the obvious logo. If the image is not going to be changed, someone should at least cut off the bottom, removing the logo. D0ct0r11 20:06, March 11, 2011 (UTC)
I've changed it to a group of humans we saw in 1969 from TV: Day of the Moon. Is it okay? BroadcastCorp. 14:43, July 27, 2011 (UTC)
It's a improvement, but all of them are caucasian men who look around the same age. There are lot of Whoniverse stories that show more diverse crowds than that. --MrThermomanPreacher 14:59, July 27, 2011 (UTC)
What stories? BroadcastCorp. 15:41, July 27, 2011 (UTC)
TV: The Sound of Drums (people in the Valiant, people watching TV), TV: The Stolen Earth (prisoners of the Daleks), TV: The New World (people outside the hospital), that's just three off the top of my head. --MrThermomanPreacher 17:22, July 27, 2011 (UTC)
Oh right. I have recently replaced the image with one from TV: The Hungry Earth, showing Rory Williams (man), Ambrose Northover (woman) and Tony Mack (old man). There's no old woman though. Nor a Black person. I'm just going to flick through TV: The Sound of Drums and TV: The New World to see if there are any good images better than the one I uploaded. Just with The New World, can you tell me the time (eg. 34:47) where the people outside the hospital are. Thanks. :) BroadcastCorp 07:41, July 28, 2011 (UTC)
Its about 29:30.--MrThermomanPreacher 10:22, July 28, 2011 (UTC)

And I have removed it. This article is about humans, not about Rory or Ambrose or Tony. The picture should show a group (preferably mixed races and genders) of humans that have are unnamed. MM/Want to talk? 10:14, July 28, 2011 (UTC)

This? BroadcastCorp 11:02, July 28, 2011 (UTC)

Yeah. --MrThermomanPreacher 12:47, July 28, 2011 (UTC)

How about this from TV: The Sound of Drums? BroadcastCorp 11:02, July 29, 2011 (UTC)

Yeah that's a good one. --MrThermomanPreacher 12:09, July 29, 2011 (UTC)

Should I add it then? BroadcastCorp (talk) ― 15:04, July 30, 2011 (UTC)

The first one: No. It's too dark and has two named humans in it (Andy Davidson and Gwen Cooper). The second one seems fine to me though. MM/Want to talk? 15:06, July 30, 2011 (UTC)

Prop splitedit source

I think we should split this between Human and Proto-human/New human (we'd only put a You may there, since another species bears that name)/Human-ish. In TV: The End of the World, Lady Cassandra says that humans have "mingled" with other species, and now call themselves "new humans," "proto-humans," or even "human-ish." They must be biologically different, at least slightly, though still similar in appearance. This would mean that every "human" post-Earth is actually a proto-human. This includes those from TV: New Earth, Utopia, The Beast Below, even The Ark in Space! Actually, scratch that: the humans in TAIS were hibernating for thousands of years directly after the destruction, and didn't inter-marry (they were "pure" — all the same. What are your thoughts on the split?
--SOTO 17:04, March 24, 2013 (UTC)

As Rose says, "They evolved, Cassandra. As they should." If we were talking real world speciation, as long as they can interbreed, they'd still be the same species. --ComicBookGoddess 07:01, April 17, 2013 (UTC)

Earth descentedit source

The first parts of the article really push the idea that ‘human’ means ‘Earthling’ or ‘of Earth descent’, but as the last section (and some of the material it cites) show that people from other worlds can also be human. And in at least some cases, it would seem to be a pretty direct description rather than a figure of speech (most recently, humans from Mondas). It seems like cats, mice and snakes, humans came about naturally on more than one planet. —-MissRatbat 06:16, 12 June 2021 (UTC)
