Vampires are mythical, blood-sucking creatures. A wide variety of creatures shared traits with vampires, and either inspired or made use of the legends.

Legends

Vampire legends existed on at least 17 planets, particularly Earth. (DW: State of Decay) Common traits were that they drank blood, could turn others into vampires, feared sunlight, had no reflections, feared crosses, couldn't cross running water and could only be killed by a stake to the heart. (DW: State of Decay, The Vampires of Venice, REF: Monster Files: Vampires)
