Summary
The Doctor and Rose Tyler arrive on a Magellan-Class Star Cruiser circa 3000 AD, where they encounter the surviving members of Pakafroon Wabster, the greatest rock band in history, even though no one has heard from them in centuries. The Doctor soon discovers why: the vessel is caught in a time-loop which repeats the same few hours prior to the vessel's destruction by sabotage. After experiencing one of the loops -- which results in the (temporary) death of Rose, the Doctor works to solve a double mystery: how to break the time loop, and the identity of the saboteur.

Notes
- The basic plotline - the crew of a starship in a time-loop reliving the hours before their destruction - is similar to the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode "Cause and Effect".
- Wabster resembles some comic book interpretations of the Frankenstein Monster.
Continuity
- Rose's first death is presented in a similar fashion to how her near-disappearance into the void is handled in DW: Doomsday, with the Doctor hanging on and screaming at her. (He is also seen weeping, echoing the end of Doomsday).
- Despite the time loop resetting, Rose remembers elements of her "death".
- This is the third story in a row in which the psychic paper is used.
Timeline
- This story occurs after DWM: The Futurists
- This story occurs before NSA: The Stone Rose
