Lorna Bucket was from Gamma Forest and had met the Doctor when she was a young girl. They were involved in an incident in which he had repeatedly told her to 'run', implying the situation was dangerous. She later enlisted in the Church, despite the fact that the forests were neutral to their cause. She did so in order to meet the Doctor, considered by her people to be "Mighty Warrior", as his name is defined in their language and also because she felt the forest was only exciting when he was there.

She sewed and gifted Amy Pond with a prayer leaf for her daughter. This was embroidered with the closest translation of Melody Pond in her native tongue, River Song. She also revealed to Amy that she had met the Doctor as a child.

Lorna was present when the Doctor confronted Colonel Manton, the Headless monks and her squad. She later saw the hooded Doctor using his sonic screwdriver to escape, but did not reveal his presence.

She stayed behind after the Doctor's army arrived and drove the other Clerics away. She overheard Madame Kovarian talking about a trap and tried to warn the Doctor's allies about what she had oveheard. However as she was a member of the Church, they were skeptical of her motives until she explained the reason she had enlisted was to meet the Doctor; it was the only way to meet a great warrior. When Amy said that he was not a warrior, Lorna is confused because his name is "Doctor", which translates into "Mighty Warrior" where she was from. Unfortunately the warning proved too late as the Headless monks had already sneaked aboard and killed most of the Silurian Army.

Lorna was gravely wounded in the battle against the monks. The Doctor consoled her in her last moments, thanking her for helping to save his friends and assuring her that he remembered her, that he always remembered those that he met. Later it was revealed that he does not know who she was, that he pretended to remembered her, implying the events she recalled had not occured for him yet. He noted that she was extremely brave.

Later, River uses the prayer leaf Lorna crafted to show Amy and Rory that she is their daughter, Melody Pond. (DW: A Good Man Goes to War)
