Oswald Danes was a convicted pedophile and former teacher who raped and murdered a twelve year old girl. When taken into police custody he stated that the girl should have run faster. He was sentenced to death, and the sentence was carried out, but due to the miracle he survived. Since his sentence was technically carried out, he was set free.
