He is best known for his role as MI6 agent Charles Robinson in the James Bond films of Pierce Brosnan from 1997-2002; during this time he also played the role of Bond for screen tests of actresses for the films. His co-star in those Bond films was Samantha Bond who played Miss Moneypenny.
Salmon was one of many actors rumoured by UK media in 2008 to be in the running to play the Eleventh Doctor.[1]
