Puddlesfield was a small village in Hampshire, England. Professor Midas based himself there and used his ray machine to turn the inhabitants into his plastic slaves. He accidentally turned the cast and crew of a BBC drama filming nearby into plastic as well. The Ministry of Defence sent the Third Doctor to investigate, and he freed the villagers from Midas's grip. (TVA: The Celluloid Midas)
