The third season of Doctor Who ran between 11th September 1965 and 16th July 1966. William Hartnell continued as the Doctor. Steven Taylor and Vicki continued as companions, the later leaving in The Myth Makers. Jackie Lane was introduced as Dodo Chaplet in The Massacre and carried on through The War Machines, which introduced Ben Jackson and Polly. Katarina and Sara Kingdom also featured. Mission to the Unknown became the first (and to date only) episode not to feature the Doctor or his companions.
