This is a work of non-fiction.

Unlike other fictional universes, the Doctor Who universe is created solely by fiction. To us, this is not a valid source. Information from this source can only be used in "behind the scenes" sections, or on pages about real world topics.

Doctor Who Quiz Book of Dinosaurs was the first of four books in the Doctor Who Quiz Book line published in 1982 and 1983. The books feature original short stories that lead into quizzes based upon the subject matter of the particular book.

Publisher's summary

Test your general knowledge and try these quizzes on dinosaurs, extinct animals, strange happenings and famous people of long ago--the original headline-makers! The Doctor and his companions Nyssa and Tegan meet them all going back and forward in time and space, and help you answer the questions.

Michael Holt, author of the Doctor Who Quiz Books, has written well over 100 books, mostly for children. He has also appeared on his own Mathemagical show on BBC Television.

Continuity

  • If these story snippets are to be counted in continuity, they need to take place sometime between Arc of Infinity and Mawdryn Undead owing to the TARDIS crew featured.
  • The Doctor believes the Lock Ness Monster is a survivor of the Age of Reptiles. There is no reference at all to the Loch Ness Monster being the Skarasen from Terror of the Zygons.
