On 8 March 1702, the Fifth Doctor and Turlough visited London. There, they encountered Carthok, who wished to murder all "unworthy" on Earth. His plans were defeated when the Doctor tricked him into marking himself with one of his playing card beacons, and he was torn to pieces by the collective unconsciousness of his victims.
