On 29 October, the following important behind-the-scenes events were known to have occurred:
- 2008 - Actor David Tennant won the "Outstanding Drama Performance" award at the 14th National Television Awards for his work on Doctor Who. On accepting his award, Tennant finally officially announced his departure from Doctor Who as the Tenth Doctor, something that had been speculated upon for weeks by then. He said, "I've had the most brilliant, bewildering and life-changing time working on Doctor Who, I have loved every day of it. It would be very easy to cling on to the TARDIS console forever and I fear that if I don't take a deep breath and make the decision to move on now, then I simply never will, and you'll be wheeling me out of the TARDIS in my bath chair."[1][2]
