Preston was a city in Lancashire, England.
The city was a key point on British railway lines, at least in the 20th century. Trains from London to Carlisle and Sellafield transferred at Preston. (PROSE: Invasion of the Cat-People)
The Eighth Doctor attempted to drop Lucie Miller off in Preston after deducing that she came from the north of England. He understood that the city had a very good bus service. However, the TARDIS bounced off it and instead materialized on Red Rocket Rising. (AUDIO: Blood of the Daleks)
