Israel
This article needs a big cleanup.

Yeah, we really cannot have all three of these country names pointing to the same page. Information needs to be split into separate pages on Judea, Palestine and Israel — sticking very very very very close to only what the source material says. We cannot tolerate any real world creep here because of the real world sensitivity of the subject.

These problems might be so great that the article's factual accuracy has been compromised. Talk about it here or check the revision history or Manual of Style for more information.

Israel was a country in Asia on Earth. Prior to 1948, Israel was known as Palestine, and, even further back, Judaea. (TV: The End of Time, PROSE: Byzantium!, The Last Days)

In 1st century, Judaea was a subject of the Roman Empire. The First Doctor, Susan, Ian Chesterton and Barbara Wright visited during this time and became caught up in the siege on Masada. (PROSE: The Last Days)

In the 12th century, King Richard I of England fought Saracens in the Crusades in Palestine. He was assisted by the Doctor, Ian, Barbara and Vicki. (TV: The Crusade)

The Third Doctor and Jo Grant visited Israel in the 1970s. (PROSE: The Suns of Caresh)

When the Third Doctor and Jo were in Greece in the 1950s, the Doctor told Jo that at this time the Brigadier was in Palestine. (PROSE: The Seismologist's Story)

During Miracle Day, Israel performed tests on living human tissue, and found that it "went into hibernation". Dr Mandrell thought this was ridiculous, and called the Israelis crazy. (TV: Rendition)

In 2015, Tel Aviv, a central city in Israel, was one of the sites in which planes have stopped mid-air by Missy. (TV: The Magician's Apprentice)
