Patrick Ellis was a member of the Wild Boars in New York City in 1888 with his brother Daniel. He accidentally killed a member of a rival gang. He encountered the First Doctor and Susan Foreman during a firefight with the Alley Dogs and took Susan hostage to escape the police, but eventually helped her return to the Doctor, Ian and Barbara.
