Rework

This article currently implies that Vocs, Dums and Super-Vocs etc. are all types of sandminer robot. The Robots of Death contradicts this. V5 and his pals are Vocs who are assigned to be sandminers. Not all Vocs are sandminers. One of the first lines of dialogue mentions a Voc therapist. In other words, articles need to be created for Dum, Super-Voc etc. - currently, Voc is the only one that doesn't redirect here - and this article needs to be reworked to talk about those robots assigned to the sandmining life. If anyone knows anything that contradicts (or corroborates) this, that'd be helpful.--Skittles the hog - talk 02:22, October 31, 2015 (UTC)

You are quite correct. Based on other sources (such as Kaldor City and Robophobia), the same types of robots are used on Kaldor for all kinds of tasks, not just sandmining. I do think that all types should have separate articles, and the general article would actually be better placed e.g. at "Kaldor robots", to which "Sandminer robots" could redirect. That sounds good to me. Voc is already done, so that's one down. I probably wouldn't redirect this article though. I'd just leave it saying something like "Sandminer robots were those Kaldor robots assigned to work aboard sandminers."--Skittles the hog - talk 17:14, November 1, 2015 (UTC)

Dum or Dumb?

On the DVD subtitles, the Dums are called Dumbs. Should this be changed?ADarthTokuDalek Here.|Communicate here. 20:03, August 30, 2018 (UTC)

Rename?

The Eighth Doctor in Escape from Kaldor refers to "Kaldor androids," and we see that the robots are used throughout their society, and not just the sandminers, as it's pointed out above. So they are actually Kaldor androids used in a variety of tasks, including sandmining. Steed 20:50, November 5, 2018 (UTC)
