Barnstaple was a riverside town in the south-west of England. To the west of the town was Barnstaple Bay and to the north-east was Exmoor. Ilfracombe was approximate to the north-west. Link roads running by Barnstaple included the A361, the A377 and the A39. (TV: The Categories of Life)
