Behind the scenes
The appearance of an immense creature capable of wrecking ships is similar to the Myrka in COMIC: The Lost Dimension. However, the creature seen in Devil of the Deep is not identified as such; indeed, Devil of the Deep's publication predates the introduction of the Myrka in TV: Warriors of the Deep by almost two years.
