Jim'll Fix It special was a short skit broadcast on the second ever episode of Jim'll Fix It in 1975.

Synopsis

Three children have written to Jimmy Savile, asking if he can fix it for them to "meet Doctor Who". The Fourth Doctor materialises in the studio to meet the girls and hands out pieces of his scarf, jelly babies and tickets to the Doctor Who Exhibitions. The Doctor then dematerialises with the children, and rematerialises with them on the other side of the studio.[1]

Story notes

  • Tom Baker is not billed on the closing credits, with the show's regular "With the Help of..." listing reading simply "Dr. Who".
  • The pieces of the Doctor's scarf were attached to the main scarf with Velcro, enabling Baker to detach them when required and hand them out to the young fixees.[1]
  • This skit is unlikely to see the light of day again as a DVD Special Edition or Blu-ray extra due to the Jimmy Savile controversy.
