Talk:List Of Deaths (Classic series)

Is this page needed?
I do have to raise the question, as I personally have a bit of a qualm over what purpose this will serve. Most lists have a clear one, whereas - with no offence intended - I'm struggling to see one for this. And I do wonder if having a page to list deaths is a tenable list given the body counts in some stories, rather than something that would just be bloated & lacking in purpose.
And having a EVERYBODY LIVES section for stories that don't fit the list certainly doesn't make sense to me. You don't find a way to fit stories into a list that the criteria or topic isn't applicable for. JDPManjoume ☎ 17:42, 24 November 2020 (UTC)
- I agree that in the future when this page is fleshed out those episodes that currently have "EVERYBODY LIVES" should likely have that removed, but for now, to remind people of what episodes have been covered, while the page is being built up, I don't mind it. - Given that a lot of these death would be speculative it doesn't make sense, also calling this page "classic series" is a conjecture, what are we defining as "classic", it also seems TV centric, so should be rename to talk about TV stories. Otherwise all stories regardless of media should be included. Also can the titles of Hartnell stories used the agreed titles on here rather than all the alternative stories Adric♥Nyssa∩Talk? 17:57, 24 November 2020 (UTC)
- "Classic Series" is a well-known term that refers to Seasons 1 through 26, and maybe the TV Movie (although there's some debate). It by definition refers to the TV series. And while that is the only way in which the page alone would make sense, it is true that it breaks the spirit of T:NPOV unless we also create List of deaths in Big Finish Doctor Who, List of deaths in The True History of Faction Paradox, and so on and so forth.

- To be clear, I am not in favour of this page. I opened this discussion rather than delete it on sight because it was a good-faith suggestion and could have some justifications behind it — just not ones that are very strong — so I'd rather we built up a consensus against, than delete it unbidden without giving it a fair trial.
