Template:SourceFilter/doc
{{SourceFilter}} is a template designed to be used alongside a few other templates. Primary documentation for all 3 that editors would generally use can be found here.
Usage
The purpose of these templates is to allow the filtering of entries on timeline pages. If you decide to implement this system on a page, you must first add {{SourceFilterTop}} to the top of the main 'Timeline' section. You can then begin to tag entries with this template. To tag an entry, add this template above the paragraph for the given entry. Add each tag as a separate argument, separated by a pipe (|). A list of possible tags are provided here. After the entry, you must add {{SourceFilterEnd}} to close the entry.

Prefix tags
All entries should receive a tag based on their prefix. These are:
Validity tags
All entries should be marked either with one of the following based on their validity:
- valid
- invalid
- notcovered
- unreleased (also covers unproduced stories for simplicity)
Source type tags
Some sources may be applicable for additional type tags. These are:
- parody
- trailer
- poem
- novelisation
Series
Some entries will receive a series tag, although not all series have tags. An entry can have as many series tags as are required. Due to the fact that tags can't contain spaces, shortenings are usually used.
- The Doctor Who series, including all TV episodes, books, comics, audios and games with the license, uses DW
- The Doctor Who TV series uses DWTV
- Virgin New Adventures uses VNA
- Virgin Missing Adventures uses VMA
- BBC Eighth Doctor Adventures uses BBCEDA
- BBC Past Doctor Adventures uses PDA
- Faction Paradox uses FP

Publisher
All entries should have a publisher tag. Due to the fact that tags can't contain spaces, shortenings are usually used.
- The BBC, including BBC Books and BBC Audio (and AudioGO for simplicity) uses BBC
- Big Finish Productions uses BF
- BBV Productions uses BBV
- Virgin Books uses virgin
- IDW Publishing uses IDW
