Why are infobox images horizontal triangles which basically only show the face? Wouldn’t it make more sense to follow what other wikis do and put things like character posters instead? I can see an argument against posters, they could be seen as out of universe, but you could put a high quality vertical image which shows the full body of the character at their most up to date appearance (e.g. Mickey Smith bring the bearded version of himself at the end of series 4, rather than him with no shirt on). This also isn’t just for characters, species like Daleks also suffer from problems with this horizontal image (and doesn’t even show an up to date design from the show). Cybermen doesn’t show the newer designs, and the image for Handles has a lot of empty space and doesn’t even fully show the thing he was named after, the handles! It just really confuses me why every page uses these not as good images instead of using something like textless posters (like on the Harry Potter wiki) or just high quality vertical images which show most of the body, more than just the face at least. The majority of relevant policy can be found here, I believe. Basically, images look much better widescreen. Aquanafrahudy 20:33, 26 May 2023 (UTC)
Maybe that was true when the article was written, but no wiki I’ve ever been on on any device has had the images look bad no matter the dimensions.

I do like the images being taken from facial close-ups, although the rules are a bit less strict now than they once were, not requiring as much cropping. Cookieboy 2005 18:01, 27 May 2023 (UTC)
