Wild Blue Yonder (song)

"Wild Blue Yonder" was a song associated with the air force.

Donna Noble sang the song in her primary school choir every Christmas. Wilfred Mott believed that children should not be taught the song as despite sounding "jaunty and fun", it was a military song about going to war. Mrs Bean, the head of the choir, believed the song was jolly and not a war song.

The Doctor's TARDIS played the song as it materialised on a spaceship, to the Fourteenth Doctor and Donna's confusion. (TV: Wild Blue Yonder [+]Loading...["Wild Blue Yonder (TV story)"])

Behind the scenes

Although unstated in the episode, the air force the song is associated with is the United States Air Force. The song is officially known as "The U.S. Air Force" and has been the official anthem of the military branch since 1947.
