Lawrence Smythe was a war buff with a special interest in codebreaking, some of which his ex-wife Evelyn Smythe picked up. (AUDIO: Project: Twilight) Evelyn divorced him after he protested against her attending an academic conference on their wedding anniversary. (AUDIO: The Marian Conspiracy) They had been married for 25 years prior to this. Evelyn expressed a level of regret for divorcing Lawrence, someone whom she still loved.
