Naming/Dab terms

Not sure about this one, he's only referenced in passing. (And it's also not clear what the other name would be.) If someone can find some other sources that mention Galen so he becomes the primary topic that would really just simplify things tremendously. Najawin 04:56, 11 June 2024 (UTC)

A search reveals that the only other currently-documented source to mention the real world Galen is Prisoners of Fate. The name is used as an alias by Adric Traken which the Doctor recognises as being based on the Roman physician. Our story page redlinks Galen of Pergamon so that's a possibility for a clearer name. --Borisashton 11:35, 11 June 2024 (UTC)
Wikipedia just calls him Galen. We should maybe move Galen to Galen (planet) to make room for this page. Two mentions mean that he is more deserving of primary status than the Galen planet. WarDocFan12 13:54, 12 June 2024 (UTC)
Except the planet has actually appeared and the physician has only been mentioned. What we could do is move to Claudius Galenus or Aelius Galenus, with {{Conjecture}} and redirects. Aquanafrahudy 📢 🖊️ 13:58, 12 June 2024 (UTC)
Yeah, that's the issue. Which other name to choose if not Galen, since there are multiple. "Galen of Pergamon" might work, given its usage in another story, but I think it violates our naming conventions. I'm not altogether worried about the fact that the planet actually appeared vs the physician has merely been referenced, in principle this doesn't matter, imo. I'd just like a couple references more to the physician before suggesting it he has primacy. I don't think two references a primary topic makes. Najawin 16:27, 12 June 2024 (UTC)
Galen (physician) then. WarDocFan12 14:10, 13 June 2024 (UTC)
Idk. I feel a reader would probably be looking for the real physician over a fictional planet which appeared in one audio drama. It doesn't feel very future proof to prioritise a one-shot location over a real world figure.
Also, may Galen-the-planet have been named after Galen-the-physician? Galen isn't a common name... 16:27, 13 June 2024 (UTC)

I note also that to anyone with a passing interest in the history of science in the medieval / classic / renaissance period Galen is quite famous. Which, yes, is definitely a niche interest. But I definitely think it plausible that more works in the future will reference him or that other works already have and we just haven't documented it. (Again, I'd still like that to be established by more than my gut before we decide on it being the primary topic though.) Najawin 16:36, 13 June 2024 (UTC)
