The era of Rassilon's Presidency was a distinct period of Gallifreyan history, referred to as the Great Days of Rassilon (PROSE: Shada [+]Loading...["Shada (novelisation)"]) or, in the context of the resurrection of Rassilon, the first Age of Rassilon. (PROSE: Engines of War [+]Loading...["Engines of War (novel)"]) Time Lords also informally referred to the "days of Rassilon" (PROSE: The Time Lord's Story [+]Loading...["The Time Lord's Story (short story)"], AUDIO: Damned If You Do [+]Loading...["Damned If You Do (audio story)"]) or the "time of Rassilon". (PROSE: The Infinity Doctors [+]Loading...["The Infinity Doctors (novel)"])

Dating

By one account, the era in which Rassilon lived was generally called the Old Time. (TV: The Deadly Assassin [+]Loading...["The Deadly Assassin (TV story)"])

Narvin remembered the Great Wars and Dark Times as being part of the days of Rassilon, with records of the Time Shades going back to this period. (AUDIO: Damned If You Do [+]Loading...["Damned If You Do (audio story)"])

Behind the scenes

  • The term "Great Days of Rassilon" originates from the script of Shada [+]Loading...["Shada (TV story)"]. Due to Tom Baker's tendency to make scripts his own, not all versions of Shada use the term.
