Sonic lipstick

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference

The sonic lipstick was a device regularly employed by Sarah Jane Smith similar to the sonic screwdriver owned by the Doctor, while resembling a real lipstick closely enough not to seem suspicious.

Profile

History

The Doctor had left the sonic lipstick for Sarah inside a sliding panel on the side of K-9 Mark IV. (Sarah Jane Adventures website)

Apparently either the Doctor left her a spare, or she obtained/constructed another, as following the destruction of one of the devices by Sontaran Commander Kaagh, she later produced another. (SJA: Enemy of the Bane)

Features

It generated a pinkish-red light when used. Like the Doctor's sonic screwdriver, it also remained ineffective against deadlock seals. The Slitheen described it as a sonic disruptor. (SJA: Revenge of the Slitheen) However in the episode "The Eternity Trap" it was able to open a wooden door when it was locked. This is different to the Doctor's sonic screwdriver because that "can't do wood" (DW: Silence in the Library) (Possibly the reason the Doctor couldn't "do wood" in Silence in the Library was because the door was jammed not locked - Donna kicked it open.)

Mark I

Uses

Mark II

The Mark I was destroyed by commander Kaagh standing on it. (SJA: Enemy of the Bane) Then Sarah Jane Smith had another Sonic lipstick in her bag, using it destroy the Tunguska Scroll and indicating that a girl can have more than one lipstick. It's unknown if the Doctor built more than one or if Sarah (perhaps with the help of K-9 or Mr Smith) made a duplicate.
