Overview

Brief Encounters was an occasional series of new, very short fiction, with a limited word count, that sees a least two characters from the Doctor Who universe encounter each other. The stories appeared throughout Doctor Who Magazine's regular issues, special issues and annual/yearbooks, with many being written by established writers.

Summary:

While in Geneva, having been brought out of retirement to attend Middle East negotiations, the Brigadier is reunited with Sarah Jane Smith covering a WHO event for a medical journal. Sarah accepts the Brigadiers invitation to dine at the Hotel du Comte where they are entertained on stage by none other than ex-UNIT soldier/ex-second hand car salesman now comedian/compare Benton who joins them for a drink

Girls Night in

Summary:

After reading one of Sarah’s books, Jo decided to get in touch only to discover they both knew the Doctor (inspiration for her stories). Together they placed an ad in Time Out magazine and after several replies had arranged to meet. Along with Liz Shaw and a less positive Tegan they wallow in nostalgia with good wine in the company of friends when there is a knock on the door…Ace joins them.

Summary:

On a day trip to London, a young girl with an enquiring mind (Sarah Jane Smith), leaves her Aunt Lavina buying sweets for her, while she nips off to explore. Behind some double gates she finds a junkyard full of shop window dummies, broken chairs, picture frames and strangely a Police Box. Lost in her own world, she suddenly remembers her Aunt and races off as a car pulls up and an older girl races inside the junkyard.

A Wee Deoch an ...?

Summary:

The Sixth Doctor takes Mel to the Royal Albion Hotel in order to celebrate his 991st Birthday. At the same time Alistair Lethbridge-Stewart has found himself at the same hotel with 48 hours to wait until he meets a contact by the name of Herr Hahnstier. The Doctor accidentally creates a scene, causing a waitress to spill her tray. As the Doctor and Mel breeze off, Alistair offers his assistance to the waitress who gives her name as Doris !
