Toby Avery
Toby Avery was the son of the pirate captain Henry Avery.
Biography
Toby Avery was cared for by his mother and brought up to believe that his father was a naval officer with the British Navy. After three years, his mother died of a fever and he sought out his father. Toby managed to stow away on his father's ship, The Fancy, and went unnoticed until the ship was attacked by the Siren. He was eventually discovered, and learned the truth: his father was a pirate. He had a fever which caused the Siren to mark his hand with the black spot and later ended up in the Siren's hospital with Rory after dropping a polished crown that summoned the Siren. Toby took the co-pilot seat alongside his father while flying a spaceship. (DW: The Curse of the Black Spot)
