Michael Tanaka was a former boyfriend of Tegan Jovanka, and worked for her company Verne's food syplies. He helped the Fifth Doctor after Tegan was kidnapped by Katherine Chambers and James Clarke. This act rekindled his and Tegan's relationship. (BFA: The Gathering)
