Mint was both a plant and a colour (green). On Earth the plant was not tolerant to rapid changes in temperature and would die back during cold temperatures. (PROSE: Cat's Cradle: Warehead, The Banquo Legacy)
Mint and food
Many sweets were mint flavoured such as humbugs and also Tic-Tacs which were available in orange and mint flavour. (PROSE: Coldheart, Interference - Book One) Whilst others had chocolate with with mint in the middle, these were often consumed following a meal with tea or coffee.
