H.P. Wilson was the Chief Electrician at Henrik's, the department store in London at which Rose Tyler worked in 2005. When Rose went to deliver lottery winnings to him, she was met by the Ninth Doctor, who told her that Wilson was dead and to run. (TV: Rose)
Behind the scenes
H.P. Wilson holds the distinction of being the first named character in the revived series, although he never appears onscreen. He also happens to be the first character to die in the revived series (again, not on screen).
