In 2012, Lord Barset travelled on an expedition to Antarctica, in order to find the remains of his grandfather's lost expedition in 1929. He was hoping to find a Silurian colony there, but in fact he found an ancient prison of the Ice Warriors, along with a comatose Seventh Doctor and his TARDIS. He wanted to use the superior technology to further his own ends rather than going to the different governments. (AUDIO: Frozen Time)
