Revision as of 01:34, 30 April 2020 by Xx-connor-xX (talk | contribs) (Anubis.)

Should Jackson Lake and Rosita be removed because they do not fufill the role of companion actually the Doctor is the companion in the story, its even stated by the Doctor to Jackson that he is Jackson companion. Bigshowbower 11:19, 31 March 2009 (UTC)

Definitely, I also don't think companions from upcoming specials should be included until after the specials have been broadcast. --Tangerineduel 13:19, 31 March 2009 (UTC)

Why was the category (for the want of a better word) television Not TARDIS travellers added, surely those characters are not considered companions. --Bigshowbower 11:15, December 1, 2009 (UTC)

  • I'm not quite sure what you're asking here. 23skidoo 16:31, December 22, 2009 (UTC)

Matthew and Emily

In case anyone in the UK is wondering, these two characters were officially invited to travel with the Doctor and accepted at the end of IDW's Doctor Who Ongoing's Fugitive story arc, after having previously been featured in the story Silver Scream (wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey circumstances). I intend to create articles on these characters, but probably not until the new year (unless someone beats me to it). The character's last names are per Ongoing #6. 23skidoo 16:33, December 22, 2009 (UTC)

Jackson Lake

I agree his status as a companion is up for debate given that technically the Doctor is his companion. However he should still be listed in some way, so I've added a "See also" column that I hope works as a compromise. 23skidoo 19:15, January 9, 2010 (UTC)

Return of the See Also

I've put the See Also column back as it was removed without explanation. I still think Jackson Lake should be included there but I'll leave him in the main listing. We cannot include Rosita in the main listing because she was never the Doctor's companion, but Jackson's. This is made clear as day in the episode. I also put "The Viewer" in See Also. Aside from the fact I think it's slightly silly for us to have this article, the canonical status of Attack of the Graske, which was a game, is very much up for debate, and I don't know if you'll find any official reference works listing "The Viewer" as a companion. I won't go so far as to argue the existence of the article, but I don't believe it should be included in the main section. And anyway, it was included in the Prose section where it didn't belong. For some reason the Dreamland companions were also included in Prose so I repaired that. 23skidoo 16:28, March 14, 2010 (UTC)

River Song

Just wondering, but should River Song be listed here because of Silence in the Library and Forest of the Dead? —BioniclesaurKing4t2 - "Hello, I'm the Doctor. Basically, . . . run." 19:15, April 15, 2013 (UTC)

Multi adventures

Jack Harkness and Sarah Jane Smith and don't belong to the section multi-adventure. They both appear in more than a single story. They should be added to multi-story.

Sarah Jane

  • School Reunion (an adventure with the Tenth Doctor)
  • The Wedding of Sarah Jane Smith (another new adventure and new story with the Tenth Doctor)
  • The Stolen Earth/Journey's End (new storyline, new adventure with the Doctor, I think the companions who helped him to bring the stolen planets in the Tardis back definitly shared that adventure with him)
  • The End of Time (this is the only appearance that I wouldn't count in as an adventure but as a brief meeting)

Jack Harkness

  • Utopia (an adventure with the Tenth Doctor)
  • The Sound of Drums (same adventure, same story with the Tenth Doctor)
  • Last of the Time Lords (same adventure, same story with the Tenth Doctor)
  • The Stolen Earth / Journey's End (new storyline, new adventure with the Doctor, I think the companions who helped him to bring the stolen planets in the Tardis back definitly shared that adventure with him)
  • The End of Time (this is the only appearance that I wouldn't count in as an adventure but as a brief meeting)

I think multi-adventure fits for Kazran Sardick and Abigail Pettigrew and the Eleventh Doctor. They shared multi adventures in the same story. A similar multi-adventure with the Tenth Doctor shares Tom Wake (short story), who is not listed as a companion. But Sarah Jane shares three and Jack Harkness shares at least two different story lines with the Tenth Doctor.

Missing companions

Single adventure, short story

Multi adventure, short sory

Single adventure, prose, Quick reads

We should likely wait two weeks to see how the voting on the back-up comics go, but Rose-the-Cat and K9 are both called companions by the Doctor in their story. Thus they should be stored under Comics, single story, multi-adventure. OS25 (talk to me, baby.) 00:24, August 30, 2015 (UTC)

Post-2017 requests

Anubis should be added, preferably under Noobis (his preferred name post-rejuvenation). OS25 (Talk) 20:04, May 2, 2017 (UTC)

Donna and Martha

Why is Donna before Martha on the TV companions part? Ben Moore512 12:21, July 5, 2018 (UTC)

Because she was the companion in The Runaway Bride (TV story) which aired before Martha's debut. Xx-connor-xX 01:34, April 30, 2020 (UTC)

Anubis

Anubis needs adding to the template as an original to comic Tenth Doctor companion. Xx-connor-xX 01:34, April 30, 2020 (UTC)
