Welcome to the Tardis:About Ben Moore812

Thanks for your edits! We hope you'll keep on editing with us. This is a great time to have joined us, because now you can play the Game of Rassilon with us and win cool stuff! Well, okay, badges. That have no monetary value. And that largely only you can see. But still: they're cool!

We've got a couple of important quirks for a Wikia wiki, so let's get them out of the way first.
British English, please
We generally use British English round these parts, so if you're American, please be sure you set your spell checker to BrEng, and take a gander at our spelling cheat card.
Spoilers aren't cool
We have a strict definition of "spoiler" that you may find a bit unusual. Basically, a spoiler, to us, is anything that comes from a story which has not been released yet. So, even if you've got some info from a BBC press release or official trailer, it basically can't be referenced here. In other words, you gotta wait until the episode has finished its premiere broadcast to start editing about its contents. Please check the spoiler policy for more details.
Other useful stuff
Aside from those two things, we also have some pages that you should probably read when you get a chance, like:

If you're brand new to wiki editing — and we all were, once! —  you probably want to check out these tutorials at Wikipedia, the world's largest wiki:

Signing messagesedit source

Please make sure to sign your posts on talk pages by ~~~~. It automatically creates links to your user page and talk page, making it easy for people to contact you. Amorkuz 20:32, January 28, 2018 (UTC)

Page creationedit source

Hi, please note that all pages must have at least one category. When you create a new page, make some effort to find a category for it; don't just leave it for other editors to happen upon and fix. Thanks, Shambala108 22:25, March 31, 2018 (UTC)

Moving pages - please don'tedit source

Hi, I wanted to let you know that only admin should move pages. The reasons behind this decision are explained in some detail at Thread:128198. If you think that a page needs to be moved, please slap the rename on it, but do not move it yourself. Thank you in advance. Amorkuz 20:50, April 16, 2018 (UTC)

Ah, ok, I see now and I won’t do it again. If I might make a request, if you could move the pages I had moved to where I moved them, if only an admin can do so. The links have all been changed and I don’t think they should be left open. Thanks in advance. Ben Moore512 16:47, April 17, 2018 (UTC)
I am not promising to move them to where you intended to. But I am planning to look at them when I have sufficient quantum of time. Moving pages is a non-trivial procedure that sometimes involves modifying connected categories, sometimes requires moving pages with derivative names. So I do not want to do it on the fly to prevent breaking things. Amorkuz 17:54, April 17, 2018 (UTC)

Aqua Galatiaedit source

Since you've been actively changing the spelling, let me remind you the relevant portion of the story. The Fifth Doctor at some point realises how Aqua Galatia works and quotes from Epistle to the Galatians (sorry, I don't have the exact quote now) to the effect of "A man reaps what he sows." And then he realises where "Galatia" in the name comes from. Since Biblical Galatia is spelled with a t, so should the water be. Amorkuz 18:01, April 17, 2018 (UTC)

Sorry about that, I only saw the part on Brooke's page so I thought it had been misspelt. I went to request a page move when I realised, but you'd already done it. Ben Moore512 18:05, April 17, 2018 (UTC)
No worries. Just wanted to explain to you why I am 100% sure about the correct spelling, which is a rare thing for audio stories. By the way, this is a rare case when moving a page quickly is really advantageous. The auto-suggest prompts people to create more and more links the longer the wrong name is hanging around. This does not matter that much for older stories, but if someone started working on this one... Amorkuz 18:26, April 17, 2018 (UTC)

Wikipediainfo tipedit source

Hi. I notice you have a great interest in creating articles, including those ".... from the real world". A little coding tip: if the title of the article matches the title of the Wikipedia article, all you need to add to the page is wikipediainfo. Only when the titles don't match we need to add stuff after the template name (see how the tags are used on Cell (biology) and Victoria for examples). Hope it helps :) OncomingStorm12th 20:27, May 6, 2018 (UTC)

Oh, I didn't know that. That's a great tip, thanks. I'll be sure to use it. Ben Moore512 20:34, May 6, 2018 (UTC)

prop deleteedit source

Hi, please note that it is not up to you to remove a delete tag from an article you created. In most circumstances, it is best for an admin to make that decision (especially if an admin is the one who placed the tag). Also, please make sure to carefully read T:NO RW. Thanks, Shambala108 22:08, May 10, 2018 (UTC)

Hedigaredit source

Hi, I saw your message to User:Amorkuz and I corrected your mistake. When you click "Edit" there is a categories tab to the right of your screen where you can add, delete or edit existing categories. Hope this helps. --Borisashton 20:50, July 13, 2018 (UTC)

Categories removal.jpg
Thanks, Borisashton, for correcting it. Ben Moore512, here is an image of how the screen described by Borisashton looks. It is, however, possible that you see something else when you click edit: it depends on whether you're on the mobile or desktop version of the website and whether you're using the ordinary or VisualEditor. If you're on the mobile version, then everything, including categories are represented as text, so you can just erase the line corresponding to the category you are planning to delete. In the VisualEditor, three is a button to the left of the "Cancel" button. Press on it and one of the items in the drop-down menu will be "Categories", which allows you to remove any of them. If you still have trouble finding the controls, please post a picture of your screen after you press "Edit" to provide more detailed instructions. Amorkuz 21:05, July 13, 2018 (UTC)
Oh, I see it now. I'll remember that for next time then, thank you. Ben Moore512 21:27, July 13, 2018 (UTC)

Reducing file sizesedit source

Hi, I saw you were having a bit of bother with File:DWMSE 44.jpg. I don't know what your usual protocol for reducing file sizes is but I usually use the websites TinyJPG and TinyPNG. They're free and you can compress an image multiple times for maximal effect. I apoligise if I am being intrusive on your affairs. Congrats on 3000 edits by the way! --Borisashton 14:05, July 30, 2018 (UTC)

Thanks for the heads upedit source

I think I will revert your temporary image to what it was before. Thanks for putting it up though. Amorkuz 20:20, September 17, 2018 (UTC)

Magazine coversedit source

Hi. Please note that magazine covers (specially the Vortex ones, since their purpose is exatcly to highlight upcoming releases) almost always contain spoilers. The two covers you uploaded today (VOR 118 and VOR 119) still have quite a few spoilers on them. I always make sure to leave a note like this: <!--Spoilers on the cover for the January releases. Per T:OFF REL, do not add until these audios anthologies and stories are released.--> on the Vortex page and the specific issue page until there's no longer spoilers on the cover.
