Creature (Fortitude)

A creature from another reality was capable of emerging on Earth through a weakness in spacetime in the English Channel. A fortress was built to keep an eye on it, with Queen Victoria later wanting it contained until Torchwood could find a way of killing it.

The creature had the effect of keeping people alive and untouched by time so long as they were in its presence. It also created phenomena which Colonel Oliver Crackenthorpe, the sentinel, put down to imps. Maharaja Duleep Singh set the creature free to kill the Queen and it attacked the fortress before Colonel Crackenthorpe was able to send it back into its world. Mr Singh took the colonel's place as sentinel in case it returned. (AUDIO: Fortitude)
