The man in a telephone box was a human who lived in London in 1966. When WOTAN constructed War Machines in London in July of that year, he spotted the second machine on a street.
He managed to get to a telephone box and call the police to warn them about the machine, but the machine saw and killed him. (TV: The War Machines)
