70 Friction Daleks for Special Agents! was a 21 competition printed in TV Century 21 focusing heavily, as the name suggests, around the Daleks.

The competition was started in TV21 33 where the rules and prizes were outlined. It was partially in-universe, being addressed to agents of the Universal Secret Service. For a chance of winning, readers had to study cut up photographs of the heads of two famous characters featured in the magazine and correctly identify them. The closing date was 9 September 1965. It was stated that the entries would then be put together with the entrants of the first seventy correct solutions selected at random being declared the winners.

The winners were rewarded with a friction motored Dalek each, otherwise available from most toy shops for a price of 12/11. TV21 described the model as a "realistic replica" and said that the fricton motor driving power also activated a siren and flashing light.

It does not appear as if the names of the winners or the identities of the characters were ever printed in the magazine, though they are clearly recognizable as Steve Zodiac and Zoony the Lazoon from Fireball XL5. As Zoony was excluded from the main Fireball XL5 comic strip (and thus prior crossovers between that series and The Daleks) to fit the darker tone of the stories compared to the television programme, this competition marked the first Doctor Who universe reference to him.
