The Paradise Towers Massacre was the name given by its survivors, and external historians, to the rampage of Kroagnon through Paradise Towers within the body of the Chief Caretaker, which ended with Kroagnon's final destruction and the liberation of Paradise Towers.

History

Aftermath

Some decades after the Massacre, Paradise Towers was "rediscovered" by human explorer Captain Cook. After relations between the rebuilt Kang-led society and the rest of humankind were reestablished, whether to believe surviving Kangs' account of the Massacre became a subject of controversy. Many, including Doctor T. E. Hamster, denied that the event had happened altogether, clinging to the golden image of Kroagnon as the "Great Architect" he had been dubbed in his lifetime.

Hamster acted as chairman of an independent committee of historians to whom security footage from Paradise Towers was eventually turned over. Though the footage proved that the Massacre had occurred, Hamster insisted that there was no proof of Kroagnon's alleged survival as a disembodied consciousness decades after his recorded death, and argued that the Chief Caretaker should bear sole responsibility for the Caretakers and Cleaners' actions. Drinking Fountain, one of the surviving Kangs and, by then, the CEO of Blue Kang Travel, tried to explain that Kroagnon had possessed the Chief Caretaker via "corpoelectroscopy", but was pressured into retracting the claim in the face of Hamster's supporters claiming the word was a pseudoscientific coinage with no real meaning.

Some years later, Hamster was still arguing against blaming Kroagnon for the Paradise Towers Massacre in an opinion piece for the Journal of Presentism and Transtemporal Mendacity entitled "Take Me Down To Paradise Towers": Reclaiming Kroagnon: Democratic accountability and the Defence of the Past.
