Survival shroud

The Survival Shroud was a device that Bilis Manger offered the Torchwood emergency hologram in a cruel choice between saving important artifacts or Vijay Meghani's life. If functioning properly, the survival shroud, which appeared like a blanket, would protect whatever it enveloped. While the hologram chose to save the artifacts, he and Vijay soon discovered that the shroud provided was a fake, an ordinary blanket.
It is a matter of question whether the device truly exists, although the Emergency Hologram, which had access to the Torchwood database, did not question Manger when he presented it to Vijay, and did not realize Bilis' subterfuge until the last moment. (AUDIO: Cuckoo)
