The Robot King was a type of robot capable of control over other mechanical devices. Production ceased around the 23rd century and the machines were assigned to be scrapped.
Abandoned and left to rust on a junkyard planet, one still retained its consciousness and became bitter towards it former creators and began to eradicate all organic life-forms. taking over a spacecraft that came within range of the planet during the heats of the Great Space Race at Space Station Cherry Delta. The Eleventh Doctor intervened and gave the consciousness of the Robot King a new purpose in life as a re-conditioned toaster. (COMIC: Space Race)
