Calamity James (series)
Calamity James is a long-running children's comic strip series surrounding the titular character and printed in The Beano. As with the majority of series published in the magazine, it is set in the magazine-wide setting of Beanotown.
Crossover
The series briefly crossed over with the Doctor Who universe in the first issue of BeanoMAX, a Comic Relief special.
One of the comics within the issue, the two-parter "Dennis meets Jonathan Ross [+]Loading...["Dennis meets Jonathan Ross (comic story)"]", features a two-panel appearance by Calamity James walking over Jonathan Ross during the first part of the comic, while the second part featured direct reference to the Dalek seen in The Invasion of Bash Street [+]Loading...["The Invasion of Bash Street (comic story)"] alongside Calamity James.
References to the Doctor Who universe in Calamity James
Some of Calamity James' appearances in other Beano strips have occurred alongside references to the Doctor Who universe. Calamity James was featured on the cover art of The Beano #3695, an anniversary issue, which depicted a single scene also involving a Dalek.
He was later among the Beano characters who made a cameo appearance in the Bananaman strip published in The Beano #3869, which had various characters be arrested by Dalek-like post boxes. Although his capture was not seen, his presence in the prison heavily suggested that he was captured by them.
