Scotland is a nation state north of England and is part of the UK. The capital of Scotland is Edinburgh, although the largest city is Glasgow, which is home to Torchwood 2.
Appearances in Doctor Who
- The Highlanders: During the Jacobite Rebellion, at the Battle of Culloden, the Second Doctor meets his companion Jamie McCrimmon, a native Scot.
- Terror of the Zygons: The Fourth Doctor encounters the Zygons and the fabled Loch Ness Monster in the north of Scotland, presumably near Inverness.
- The Hand of Fear: While attempting to drop off Sarah Jane Smith in Croydon, the Fourth Doctor mistakenly leaves her instead in Aberdeen, although he leaves before he realizes his mistake, and does not find out until DW: School Reunion in his tenth incarnation.
- Timelash: The Sixth Doctor sends the Borad back to Scotland in the 12th century stating he will probably end up as the Loch Ness Monster.
- Tooth and Claw: The Tenth Doctor and Rose battled a werewolf in Scotland, where he also met Queen Victoria.
- The first companion to the Eleventh Doctor, Amy Pond, was a native to Scotland (DW: The Eleventh Hour).
- During the 29th century, Scotland had its own starship; they refused to be a part of Starship UK (DW: The Beast Below).

- Children of Earth: 1965 scenes of Torchwood Two agents and Jack Harkness giving 12 orphan children from near Arbroath to the 456 in exchange for an anti-virus.
