Notes
- This is a short sketch for the charity Children In Need.
- You can watch this on the BBC site (see external links below).
- It is the only episode (other than The Edge of Destruction, to be set entirely in the TARDIS with only the Doctor and companions in it.
Continuity
- This story has no date, as the entire story is set travelling through space and time.
- This story continues directly from where The Parting of the Ways left off.
- Rose's suspicion that this new Doctor may be a Slitheen or other imposter recalls similar suspicions on the part of Ben regarding the newly regenerated Second Doctor in "The Power of the Daleks." The Doctor's manic behavior towards the end of the story recalls similar, though much more violent, "fits" displayed by the Sixth Doctor in "The Twin Dilemma."
Discontinuity
- Rose seems to know that Captain Jack is still alive, even though at the time, the Doctor thought he was dead and Rose had no memory of the events in The Parting of the Ways so didn't know Jack's fate so had no way of knowing he survived. Also the Doctor would have mentioned his death but instead he says "he's busy, he's got plenty to do" implying that he knows Jack is alive and well.
