The Mother was a high ranking member of the Families. She was in charge of protecting the Shanghai pole of the Blessing.
When she first met Jilly Kitzinger, she ignored the alias the family had given her and instead addressed her by her real name, stating that she wasn't interested in alliases.
She was killed by Oswald Danes when he blew up the Families compound in Shanghai.
