World War II was a major conflict conducted mainly in Europe and Asia and parts of northern Africa from 1939 to 1945.

Events

The war was started in 1938 due to the Nemesis statue. Arriving on Earth, the statue caused Adolf Hitler to annex the country of Austria. (DW: Silver Nemesis)

In 1940 and 1941 was the Blitz in Great Britain, when Germany bombed the island.

For a short period of time either side, the Cardiff rift opened between the first year and 2007, allowing Jack Harkness and Toshiko Sato of Torchwood 3 to meet with the original Captain Jack Harkness, and to cause suspicions in the denomination of the institute about Bilis Manger. (TW: Captain Jack Harkness)

By the next year (although far in the past of his personal timeline), the new Jack Harkness (who had stolen the previous one's name) was working as a conman in London, to try and get revenge on the Time Agency who had stolen two years of his memory. He chose the Blitz as future records would record which bombs landed where and when, allowing the deal to be passed after the bomb had destroyed the artefacts the Time Agency wanted. However, a Chula ambulance used by Jack accidentally released nanogenes, which soon caused the Empty Child plague to spread through the area of the city. Jack later joined the Doctor and Rose Tyler on their travels after the plague was "cured" and he had learnt the error of his ways. (DW: The Empty Child / The Doctor Dances)

In 1943, Fenric was working with his Haemovores at Maiden's Point. (DW: The Curse of Fenric)
